A Word from the Superintendent


Previously, I shared with you the excitement of seeing the footprint of the high school expansion project take form.  Since then, we have come to see the emergence of a spectacular new edifice.  Progress on the high school addition has been chronicled weekly on the District’s webpage under: District Information/High School Expansion Project/Photos and Updates. 

I encourage you to take a look at these photos so you might follow the evolution of this major construction project.

Even the wintry weather did not adversely impact the construction schedule.  It remains on target at this time, and it is likely that the new wing will be completed by the fall.

The auditorium was completed in early March, just in time for a rescheduled High School Jazz Co.  It has subsequently hosted The Player’s Club production of Fiddler on the Roof, numerous spring concerts, Middle School Jazz Co, community events, and numerous awards programs.  One of the finishing touches, the installation of beautiful chandeliers, occurred in early June.

The expanded weight room and fitness area has been available to students for several months.  The budget provides the first installment in a five-year lease for fitness center equipment as well as a new position for a strength and conditioning coach.  After the opening of the new wing, the original high school gymnasium will undergo renovations to return it to physical ...
