Driver's Education

Drivers Education can help provide the foundation for safe driving behavior and has a number of tangible benefits:

  • Students learn defensive driving techniques.
  • Students become eligible for a Class D (Senior) license at age 17 (rather than waiting until age 18), with a driver's education certificate.
  • A 10% annual discount on insurance premiums, offered by most insurance companies to those who complete the program, can result in significant savings. Please check specific savings with your insurance company.
Fall and Spring Programs

The fall and spring programs consist of a 48-hour structured curriculum designed to teach teenagers how to become safe and responsible drivers. Each student is provided with 24 hours of classroom lecture/discussion, plus 6 hours of actual behind the wheel driving instruction, plus 18 hours of in-car driving observation. This is approximately a 16 week program which meets twice a week. One session per week consists of a 90 minute lecture class; the second day consists of a 90 minute in-car instruction session.

We also offer a Saturday program which meets for 3 hours on Saturday mornings.
