In-District Transportation

Children attending Eastchester Schools in grades K-5 are eligible to receive transportation if they reside one half mile or more from school. Children in grades 6-12 are eligible to receive transportation if they reside one mile or more from school. Your child's bus information is sent in August. If your child does not qualify for busing, due to the mileage restrictions, it will be noted.

Buses, drivers and monitors are provided through First Student, Inc. (914) 668-2800.

Requests for a change of bus stop or bus route must be made in writing - via fax (914) 395-1102, mail to Eastchester Union Free School District Board of Education, Transportation Office, 580 White Plains Road, Eastchester, NY 10709 or e-mail at RArena@Eastchester.k12.ny.us. Please allow up to 5 business days for a response. Response times may be longer during the first few weeks of school. Requests for bus stops in front of your home will not be granted.

Communication between residents and the Transportation Office is an important part of transportation services. The transportation staff is available to address any questions or concerns either by phone or email. Every effort is made to respond in a timely manner.

School bus stops and pick-up times are established by the Transportation Department. For the safety of our students, only students assigned to the bus route are allowed on the bus, and each student will be picked up and discharged at designated stops only. Students in grades 2 through 5 will be let off at the bus stop without a parent or guardian present if an Authorization to Walk Home Form is on file with the Transportation Office. This form is sent home with the bus information in August and is also available below.

Children attending the EASY Program, Woodlot Christian Pre-School, or Lincoln Academy, that are transported to/from these facilities, must complete a Transportation Request to Day Care/After School Facilities Form as soon as enrollment is completed. Any scheduling changes must be given in writing to the Transportation Office. Children will not be transported to/from these programs without this form on file in the Transportation Office. Each facility will have the form. Click on the link below for the form.

If you do not intend to use the school bus, please contact the Transportation Office as soon as possible.

In the event your bus is late you may call the bus company directly or the Transportation Office (914) 793-6130 ext. 4444 to inquire.
