EMS Students Score in National Spanish Exam

Earlier this spring, some of Mrs. Shay’s 8th grade Spanish students participated in the 2018 National Spanish Examination. The National Spanish Examination is an on-line test/contest that is given each year by the American Association of Teachers of Spanish & Portuguese. The purpose of the NSE is:


  • To recognize achievement and to promote proficiency in the study of Spanish.

  • To stimulate further interest in the teaching and learning of Spanish.

  • To prepare students for the Spanish AP and SAT II

    Jane Manning, Aditi Hegde, Sophia Stallone, and Sophia Magann achieved a Gold Medal, which means they scored above a 95%. Yuri Takeda, Marygrace Froehlich, Genna Handel, Colette Santo, Margaret Kiely and Aamuktha Kottapalli achieved a Silver Medal, which means they scored above an 85%. Congratulations!
