New teachers and administrators learned more about the Eastchester School District and each other as they started a two-day orientation program on Monday, August 26.
The new team members met new Eastchester School Superintendent Dr. Robert Glass, who started in the district in July. Dr. Glass encouraged the faculty and administrators to share their gifts, talents and experiences.
“It is fun to learn something about a new place and what you can bring,” said Dr. Glass. “Every day that I have been here, I have been more impressed with this community and this district than the day before. It has a tremendous heart and investment in culture and pride in its school system.”
The new faculty members and administrators participated in ice-breaking sessions with Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum & Instruction Scott Wynne who also presented an overview of the Eastchester Schools. Then they boarded the Tuckahoe Trolley with Eastchester Town Historian and retired Eastchester Middle School teacher, Richard Forliano.
The orientation also includes sessions and information regarding Special Education, Technology and meetings with individual principals.
