The Eastchester School District embodied the definition of gratitude this Thanksgiving season.
Waverly students created a Tree of Gratitude that grew over the month. Each student placed a leaf on a branch that expressed what they are thankful for and drew or pasted pictures of their families, homes, food, even the earth. Teachers Theresa Arita and Molly Koller focused on this important theme. “What better way to showcase gratitude than to have a tree right in the hallway! Every time someone walked by they looked at their leaf and acknowledged what they had done. The Gratitude Tree displayed their pride," said Arita.
